Internet experts tell you to never reply to a spam. A "remove" tells the spammer your e-mail address is active and you will be spammed even more. So what are you supposed to do?

Here's some info that should help:

 CAUCE 
    The Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email is an ad hoc, all volunteer organization, created by Netizens to advocate for a legislative solution to the problem of UCE (a/k/a "spam"). They have lots of good info on how to avoid spam & what you can do about it.

 Spam Recycle 
    Here's a page to send your spam to them to be forwarded to the appropriate federal authorities. Be sure to visit their "6 Ways To Deter Spam" page & Sign their Anti-Spam Petition. :-)

    They have collected a list of links to sites devoted to spam-fighting and related activities here. This is where to start if you're not sure what all this stuff means!

    SpamCop has several dedicated (and spam-free) groups for both the a dvanced user and the newbie. Experts can suggest new features and report bugs. Newbies can learn from the experienced regulars. Or search the entire site, FAQ and all support-forum content in one place.

     From the developer: "Spammers use programs (robots) to scan the internet and collect e-mail addresses to send their spam to. 'Fake Address' generates lists of fake e-mail addresses for those robots to read. If enough such lists are created and spread around the internet, the efficiency of the scanning robots will be close to null, since most of the addresses they will find will lead to nowhere."

    This is a perl script that generates e-mail addresses "on the fly". You can set the number of addresses to generate. :-) You need a cgi-bin & perl installed on your server to run it (if you have a cgi-bin you probably have perl). If you don't know what I'm talking aboutme & I'll lend you a hand.

I use both of the above resources; currently working on adding them to all my websites. That way, when a spambot hits me they get thousands of fake e-mail addresses! LOL!!! 0 ;^ )
